I too am receiving errors on updating from 12.04 to 12.10, using the update manager. Popup messages appear complaining about:
emacsen-common dictionaries-common gforth All reporting: "subprocess installed post-installaction script returned error exit status 1" At the end I get: "Error during commit "A problem occurred during the clean-up. Please see the below message for more information "installArchives() failed" In my apt-term.log there are also complaints about aspell, ispell, et al.
