When login fails and I drop back to command prompt (Ctrl-alt-F1) and execute 'sudo lightdm -d' the log ends at the line: '[+0.07s] DEBUG: Registering seat with bus path /org/freedesktop/DisplayManager/Seat0' ( time varies) and I get the message 'Failed to use bus name org.freedesktop.DisplayManager, do you have appropriate permissions?' when I xdrop back to the command prompt.
