Christopher, my comment is about this bug (#841948). My intention was only to bring more information that could help in some way. Even apologize for having written that Open SUSE worked ok on my ASUS, actually it didn´t work, it shows the same problem than this bug (#841948). After writing here, a saw the comments on kernel.org bug tracker: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42725, and they are very close to reach the root of this problem.
