If my Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone is plugged into the USB port of my
Ubuntu laptop, when I boot the laptop I get the solid purple Ubuntu boot
background but then the boot process seems to halt there. If unplug the
smartphone and reboot, the boot process works fine.
