I am also getting this bug and have observed it on 3 laptops. My own laptop is a Lenovo z480 with 6gb ram and intel core i5 3210m , intel hd4000 graphics.
This one freezes ( complete freeze - no mouse , tty , anything ) once in a week Another old lenovo has same issue. It also freezes a little more regularly. I also observed this on a an old dell inspiron. On this particular system it freezes on live CD itself and you cannot proceed with installation. If wubi installation is done, then it freezes on booting ubuntu after installation. I suspect that any hardware that this bug affects will show the freeze on live cd itself without needing to actually install ubuntu.
