@Adam Niedling: from another bug report, I can see that you have Optimus/hybrid graphics, so the behavior you report is correct. You should NOT see nvidia drivers offered on your system. Installing nvidia drivers directly would break at least the 3D (and maybe black screen X). If you want to install nvidia drivers, you should do it through Bumblebee: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bumblebee
