No because this is not really an "Unity bridge" and this is why this process 
has been renamed in the development version ;)

   This script is not really a bridge but it replaces the Unity Launcher API 
daemon.
   Unity is not required, if an application supports the Unity Launcher API, 
the dock should act as "Unity's dock".

And a few apps support this Unity Launcher API in Ubuntu: Nautilus, the
Update manager, Firefox for with Unity Integration plugin, etc.
