Are you *sure* that NVIDIA XvMC was working? This can be determined for
sure by forcing XvMC output, not the default fall back Xv.
I thought you needed the XvMC from the nvidia binary driver in
/etc/X11/XvMCConfig for it to work correctly.
Could you double check?
