** Description changed: 1) Installed Ubuntu 11.10, no problem. 2) upgraded to 12.04. Result: the computer could not boot any more. 3) created a separate /boot partition at the start of the disk, then reinstalled GRUB in it. Result: the computer is now able to boot.
