Got the same problem here with 12.04.1 64 bits. This is really
annoying...

I really think that the integration with AD from MS is really important
to make Ubuntu enter on some professional and government networks... In
my country we are trying to do this but likewise-open and even centrify
express are not up for that...

On 12.04.1 likewise-open was for me not even usable because it wont copy
skel when a domain user logins and where we need to implement PAM mout
we couldn't because it also wont work...

For sometime now we are using centrify because it haves less bugs and
works ok with skel and pam mount... on the other side its a bit more
tricky to implement and lately and for some reason makes network a bit
unstable on the client machine.

I started again to investigate likewise-open because we are in the
beginning of an implementation on a school with more that 200 desktop
using windows connected to AD. We really wont to convert this desktops
to ubuntu 12.04, but we only have this chance if we can prove that
ubuntu works ok on a AD environment...

Likewise now works with skel and PAM mount but now the domain users dont
have sound...

Fedora 18 is implementing ad authentication out of the box and maybe
this is not necessary to ubuntu but ubuntu users deserve a better ad
integration if the community wants to give us a chance to make ubuntu a
real alternative to proprietary os's on a AD network...

Sory for my long test and i know that this is not really a correct bug
report but i was in the need to let all know how i feel about this
really annoying situation...
