Public bug reported:

I was trying to upgrade from 10.04 to 12.10. I initiated the following
commands:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Until there were no more packages to install. After rebooting the
computer told me that there was a new release, and I should do a

sudo do-release-upgrade

So I did and I think I had to execute this twice. The final time I did
this I got an error which I've attached via the commandline prompt to
report a bug.

I have no issue with rebuilding my machine from scratch, but I am
reporting this bug in the event the community finds the information
useful.

Thanks
Joe
