The right-click context menu is opened for file/selection you clicked on, if you click on file name in Detailed View mode.
The context menu for file doesn't include 'Paste' unless that context menu is opened for single folder item. It is because you cannot really paste files onto some text file, for example. You know, it's impossible. The context menu for any file doesn't include 'Create...' submenu either as you cannot create new directory inside of some text file and even if selected file is a directory, such operation may give you misleading result, creating new file inside of selected directory. To paste files or create something new you should open context menu for the folder itself and that can be achieved clicking on the empty space. In the Icon View mode that empty space is spread everywhere so it's not a problem. In Detailed View mode it may be not so obvious but columns other than Name are considered as folder empty space so you can find the context menu items you are missing by clicking anywhere on column other than Name. That is how it should be but there was a bug in 1.0.1 version about this behavior which is fixed in upstread commit d6e75ff183f3a8918c0c70a03cc83c7713de414c. Package in Ubuntu should be either upgraded or fix added into update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069528 Title: PCManFM no right-click menu for creating folder or new file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm/+bug/1069528/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
