I have bought a printer for POS thermal printer. It is a 58mm paper width
printer. The manufacturer comes with linux printer drivers for cups 1.6. 1 and
it should work with 1.5.2 too. I installed the printer and select the ppd files
provided by the manufacturer. The installation detect the printer as
usb://known/printer. When it printed the test page. The error comes out
/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastortogpt58.ppd.
I used the system ubuntu 12-04-armhf on mele . I cried to have the
printer connected for 2 weeks. But it failed every single time.
Finally, I tried on the system Ubuntu -12-04-LTS precise Pangolin. It
worked ok. I do not know why two version of Linux have different
result.
Please help.
