I just noticed that the problem goes away if I revert the "tsched=0" workaround. That is, if I use the default settings in /etc/pulse/default.pa, particularly
load-module module-udev-detect then I don't have any discernible crackling in my microphone recordings. If, on the other hand, I use load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0 then I do have crackling. (Unfortunately, "tsched=0" is necessary for Skype and VLC sound to be bearable.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677354 Title: [Realtek ALC861] noise when recording with a microphone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/677354/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
