Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg

On my MacBook with Intel GMA 950 graphics, by default the
xserver-xorg-video-i810 driver is used.
This works, but doesn't support over 1024x768 without using the 915resolution
BIOS hack. However, this driver
has been largely superseded by the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver, which
*also* supports the GMA 950 and my LCD's
native resolution (1280x800) without any need for a video BIOS hack. Could
xserver-xorg-video-intel be preferred whenever
a video chipset supports it?

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

xserver-xorg-video-intel should be used on cards that support it
