Hi laurent, thanks for taking the time to file a bug report.
Please make sure to *purge* all of the mariadb packages before trying to
install mysql. The my.cnf file is owned by mariadb's common package, so
when you install mysql-common, it tries to take over ownership of the
file, and its already gone, so it assumes you *meant* to delete it.
Purge mariadb and mysql, then re-install, that should correct the issue.
