Hi, I'm having the same issue with 12.10 on a Thinkpad x201. In my case it's the same behaviour when on AC or battery or if I suspend or close the lid. Just tried with 3.7.0-030700rc7-generic #201211252135 SMP Mon Nov 26 02:35:53 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux and have its the same as with 3.5.0-19.
