Woohoo, I have a similar situation. I seem to have killed synaptic and
was trying to get it back using the command line. I get this error
message:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
synaptic:
Depends: libapt-inst-libc6.5-6-1.1 but it is not installable
Depends: libapt-pkg-libc6.5-6-4.4 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
I have been trying to figure this out on my own but I am not a Linux
serf (much less a guru or a god).
I am pleased to see this but as I believe they are related. I am
running the AMD64 version of 7.10.
