Renaud, god for you, becouse i and many other people can't do anything after freeze. ctrl+alt+f1 or something other hotkeys do not work. You can't connect to system via ssh(if you has installed ssh-server), you can't do anything.
In your case only window system has been freezed, so system can write something to log and you can read it.
