Well,
Before trying the new kernel, I remarked that my USB3 external Drive was
finally recognised when plugged before boot, although I removed the "blacklist
uas". (I'll come back later on it)
But, whatever, I tried the new kernel and things were worst. I twas not
possible to mount the drive on the USB3 plug even when plugged after boot. I
tried different reboot, plugged or unplugged, it did not work. It only work on
the USB2 plug.
On the other hand, considering that I surprisigly saw the drive recognised on
the previous kernel, I tested on a different computer, which never saw the
drive before. This desktop computer is new and has the same configuration
(Quantal 64bits, kernel : 3.5.0-19.30-generic 3.5.7). At first, it did not
recognised the drive on the USB3 plugged AFTER boot. It worked when plugged on
USB2 after a reboot only. And then could be recognised on USB3 when plugged
after boot. But never when when plugged before boot.
Thus I blacklisted uas. USB3 was recognised when plugged before boot.
Then I removed "blacklist uas". But then the USB3 was magically recognised
before boot.
So, the problem is recurrent and solved similarly.
The questions are :
1) Why do I have to plug it in USB2 for the first before it can be recognised
by USB3 ?
2) What happen when I successively blacklist and then unblacklist "uas" that
make the USB3 recognized before boot ?
2 bis) Is "uas" really unblacklisted if I remove "blacklist uas" from
"blacklist.conf" or is there something left somewhere that enable the
recognition of USB3 drive on a USB3 plug...
The problem is that my drive is now always recognised when plugged before boot
whatever I do, on both my computers. And I won't be able to test if any patch
or so would have an impact...
[ Or maybe would have I to test it with a live-usb ? Except that for the moment
I couldn't succeed in making a permanent partition on my live-usb with quantal,
although it worked with previous Ubuntu versions. But this is another
question... ]
