Symptoms:

Everytime after a cold boot (from power off status), hard disk goes
offline and remounted in read only mode when there's any write access
attempt.

However after a reboot the problem goes away and everything works as
normal until it's switched off and turned on again.

Hardware information :

CPU / RAM / Mainboard : Intel i5 / 8G ram / ASRock Z77 Pro4

Disks  :

Samsung SSD 830 : /dev/sda, contains both Ubuntu and Windows 8
Seagate ST500DM002-1BC142 : /dev/sdb, home directory for Ubuntu. *** THE 
FAILING DISK ***
LG Super-Multi GH24NS90 : DVD-RW

Every hardware part is brand new. And I've switched SATA ports and cables 
between disks with no avail.

Also I've got the the failing disk checked for errors at repair shop.

Could it be a kernel or driver problem?
