Can you now provide the following information, preferably when running
the 3.7.0-030700rc8-generic kernel and definitely without the ppa
packages installed? Please describe exactly what happens when you press
the backlight Fn keys -- i.e., does nothing happen at all, or does the
brightness indicator appear on the screen without the screen brightness
actually changing, or something else? Please also provide the output of
running 'ls /sys/class/backlight' in a terminal. Thanks!
