MOST of the time the problem has been Nvidia driver related. The
following options should be ENABLED by default:
1. Mouse and Touchpad - Show position of pointer when the Control key is
pressed.
2. Keyboard Layout Options - Key sequence to kill the X server - Control + Alt
+ Backspace
WHEN, not if, the system hangs due to Nvidia driver problems, the
following sequence will usually allow a user to restart X-windows and
continue without the need for a power cycle:
1. Control + Alt + Backspace
2. Tap the Control key to highlight the location of the pointer
3. Repeat steps one a two a few times until X-windows restarts.
IDEAL but very FUTURISTIC solution. Modify Nvidia drivers so that they
work correctly.
