Public bug reported:

I use Full-Disk Encryption on 12.10. All seems to work fine if I power
the machine on from a full power off - the pretty screen asks for my
disk unlock password and then takes me to the login screen when I enter
it correctly.

If I reboot the computer instead, it shows a completely blank black
screen. I can type the password "in the dark" and hit enter and it goes
to the login screen, but it obviously isn't very good from a useability
point of view.

Let me know how I can help.
