** Description changed:

+ I should have mentioned that the USB dongle model affected is Huawei
+ K3770. I have since swapped the SIM card to an alternative dongle and
+ wireless broadband is working again. The Huawei K3770 did work
+ previously and so it has been frustrating to find a way round the
+ problem.

+ Best wishes

+
I have a Vodafone Mobile Broadband dongle which worked perfectly until I
  upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10.

When I connect the dongle to the USB port I receive confirmation that I
am registered on the Vodafone network but then within about 10 seconds I
get the message "Modem disconnected" before I have been able to get on
to the Internet. I have checked all the forums and cannot find a
  solution anywhere.

I look forward to hearing from you.

  Peter
