Installing drivers is the first thing I do every time I install a distro, (not because I don't like free software, but because nouveau uses my cpu and has poor heat management), so I am quite sure I had nvidia drivers installed before I installed firefox.
For the record, it's the only program giving me this issue. Jockey-gtk gives me 4 possibilities for nvidia drivers: 173 295 current 304 exp 310 exp (I selected current, but ended up having 304 exp!) If I try to switch from 304 to 295, I am faced with the "confirmed bug" lightdm crash on start, because of linux-headers etc. I would like to try nouveau drivers, but I fear I will be stuck on a tty as well... If you want me to launch firefox (or gala) with debugging modes and post logs, feel free to ask -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1088596 Title: Firefox freezes desktop, then crashes session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-experimental-304/+bug/1088596/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
