It's hard to tell if the disk ok in Windows, as it contains only the
home directory in Ubuntu so I rarely access it from Windows. However I
haven't yet found any problem mounting it with DiskInternal's Linux
Reader tool on Windows.

Initially, I suspected a hardware failure, so I let it tested by a local
repair shop and they found no problem with it. And I guess it's a bit
hard to explain that it only fails every other boot and runs perfectly
fine once the booting succeeds.

By the way, this is the first installation of Ubuntu Linux on that hard
drive since it's bought brand new.
