Affects me as well. Roughly 25% of the times I boot my computer, I get a
completely blank screen instead of the dm-crypt passphrase prompt.
Typing in the passphrase works buts results in a blank screen when
logging into ubuntu (or kubuntu in my case). This could be resolved by
pulling the monitor plug and plugging it back in again (or probably by
switching screens with CTRL-ALT-F6 /F7 as OP noted).
Computer is a Dell laptop with a monitor plugged in via HDMI on boot.
Unsure exactly which dumps are useful so I will do those relevant for me that
the OP did:
