I have an hp dv7 with radeon mobility 4500 graphics card (resolved
graphics card issues already, hdmi sound works, no flicker on startup).
My current problem is two fold.
1. After I suspend, if I hit any key to start (the mouse has no effect)
I hear the cpu start up, but no keys are responsive on the key board,
the mouse is unresponsive, and the screen does not start at all. No
back light, nothing, only a cpu fan noise and some lights on the
keyboard on the power key come on. At this point, the only solution I
have is a hard reboot by holding the power key down.
2. If I close the laptop lid, it does not suspend correctly at all.
cpu remains on and fan running, but if I open the laptop lid back up to
resolve, then the previous problem (number 1) happens. Tried to enter
password, terminal, ctrl, alt, f1 f7 fetc... you name it! Nothing works
New to Ubuntu. Started using it about a month ago and LOVE it (even
with the bugs)!! It has rescued two old laptops in our house and I have
renounced windows now! I have, however, some problems with my newer
laptop (the hp).
