Public bug reported:

I am using Ubuntu 12.10 Gnome shell 3.6.2.

One of the few things in gnome shell that keeps bothering me is the
sudden crashing of messaging tray (bottom tray of gnome shell) . When it
crashes, no notifications will appear. It neither displays a warning
nor an erorr message indicating that it crashed. Only when I hover the
mouse at the bottom of screen, I discover that messaging tray is not
appearing since it crashed. And because of it, I lose many notifications
(especially chat notifications). I remember this was happening since
some time.

The temporary way to fix this is restarting gnome shell.

How to reproduce:
I haven't found a specific pattern. It crashes all of a sudden. But it happens
considerable times (approx 5 times a week).

Please fix it.

Thanks
