I'm not sure I understand your comment, Raymond. In my case there is *no* front Mic because I've moved it to the rear. Yet during a Skype call the system would switch from the rear Mic to the non-existent front Mic, so the other party heard nothing from me.
After I applied Cezary's workaround above, the system continues to use the rear Mic, which is what I want. Are you saying it's not a bug? (In which case is there a better solution than the workaround above?) Or are you clarifying what the reason for the bug is? cat /proc/asound/card0/codec\#0 | grep Codec Codec: Realtek ALC892 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004607 Title: pulseaudio switches microhpones randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1004607/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
