Public bug reported:
Hello,
Ubuntu cannot boot from a USB Drive when it is plugged in a USB 3.
I have a new Sony Vaio Ultrabook without an optical drive, but with only
2 USB 3.0 entries. I created with Unetbootin a bootable Ubuntu 12.10
amd64 USB disk. The PC starts in UEFI mode and Grub2 is launched, where
I choose "Try Ubuntu". After one minute the Ubuntu loading screen
disappears, and a shell is opened "BusyBox" nad "initramfs". A message
is also issued: "The root device cannot be found"
In the shell, I went to "/dev" and tried to find my USB drive, but it
wasn't there! In my opinion the Linux kernel in Ubuntu is unable to find
or use USB 3.0 ports during boot.
