I can confirm the bug on Ubuntu 12,10 Gnome 3 DE with everything updated from the Gnome 3 PPA repo. The keyboard layout indicator does not show up in the top panel. I repeat, I have just added the right Gnome 3 PPA and installed the updates, the keyboard layout indicator is still missing. .
