Hi Joseph - Thanks for the bug report. This is a user support issue, rather than a software bug so I'm going to mark this as invalid.
With that said, I did a little poking and things should be working for you. I created a new user with `adduser --encrypt-home foo`, then switched to the new user, moved ~/.ecryptfs/wrapped-passphrase to /test /wrapped-passphrase, and then created the appropriate symlink. It works as expected for me in this simplified set up. I suggest making sure that your USB key is being mounted at boot. Also, you said that you linked to the wrapped-passphrase file in the ~/.encryptfs directory. The spelling on that directory name is incorrect (you need to drop the 'n'). You'll have to poke at your local set up a bit because something obviously isn't quite right. But at least you now know that a symlinked wrapped-passphrase file works as expected in Precise. Good luck! ** Changed in: ecryptfs-utils (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Summary changed: - Seperated Wrap-Phrase Is Not Working + Symlinked wrapped-passhrase file is not working -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1093705 Title: Symlinked wrapped-passhrase file is not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ecryptfs-utils/+bug/1093705/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
