It looks like ubuntuone-client-gnome depends on gconf for the
gconf>gsettings migration but since that happened before Ubuntu 12.04
LTS, it should be possible to drop that code and dependency now.
There's something in configure about needing gconf for the nautilus
extension but I thought nautilus switched to gsettings before nautilus
3.0.
This bug report is part of a long-term goal to drop gconf from the
Ubuntu DVD.
