Public bug reported:
whenewer I turn on the computer I am receiving a message that a crash
report has been detected then I'm asked to report the problem, then to
authenticate it with my password but lo and behold, a message appears
that Ubuntu 12.4 has experienced an internal problem and if I wish to
report it- I do so I send it- but after a while another message pops up
: Could not determine package or source package name. Sometimes in the
Crash report there is a reference to hplip usb or var/lib something
being locked and i'm asked to restart the computer but the same crash
report appears again. If I choose to ignore it by the next start the
keyboard wouldn't work and the machine has to be restarted to make it
work. The hplip usb connection is aparently no problem since I can print
the message in the printer. But other weird things are happening since
the upgrade also. The update manager pops up with updates that wouldn't
be downloaded and when I do update in the terminal it says the software
is up todate. The power manager remains in sleep mode and on ocassions I
get message that the session manager didin't respond, none of this has
happend before the upgrade. It seems to me that there are some bits of
old programmes on the hard disc remaining as the machine is also running
much more slowly. Is there any other way eccept buying a new one- it's
quite old now, to make it run a bit faster?
