You are asking to rebind the hotkey sequence for increasing the font
size under gnome-terminal to CTRL-= because the ``+'' sign lies on the
second register on the ``='' key on your keyboard layout.

While a lot of keyboard layouts place special characters just like the
US layout, others do not. For example the German layout has its own
``+'' key while the ``='' sign lies on the second register of the ``0''
key. Unfortunately it is virtually impossible to catch different
possible combinations of the position of the ``+'' and ``-'' signs due
to different keyboard layouts and physical keyboard layouts.
