I had a look at 2.3.6 back then and found that it seemed to have been released 
in a way that was not configurable at least with the cmake we have in raring 
(due to some usage of () nesting). Which did not help in giving much confidence 
in the quality in general.
But ok, since we are required to fix the bindings stuff, it cannot be much 
worse to update the version, too... :-P
