Error message "The postgres system user must not have root as primary
group."; it seems you tinkered with the "postgres" system user? You can
restore it with
sudo deluser --system postgres
sudo adduser --system --home /var/lib/postgresql --no-create-home --shell
/bin/bash --group --gecos "PostgreSQL administrator" postgres
