There's a workaround for this that may work for some folks.  If your
concern is only ignoring certain types of files while importing from a
camera/memory card, the search toolbar may be of use.

While in the import page, hit F8 to make the search toolbar appear (or
go to View->Search Toolbar.)  To ignore videos, click the Photos button
on the toolbar.  To ignore photos, hit the Videos button.

RAW is a bit trickier, since the photos button includes both RAW and
regular photos (JPEGs, etc.)  But you may be able to use the search box
on the toolbar for this since it can filter by filename.  For example,
when importing from my phone I can type ".jpg", without quotes, to see
only JPEG images.  This lets me ignore both videos and RAW files when
importing.
