I think it may be something handling authentication over, cause gparted crashes after entering password in authentication window in my case.
I observed, following: start gparted via terminal with sudo command: # sudo gparted >result is gparted starts without crashing. maybe terminal links other .so , .so as mentioned before... looks like this: # sudo gparted # [sudo] password for nine: # ====================== # libparted : 2.3 # ====================== Hope this helps.
