I have similar problems but most are solved if you use the Epson driver (Epson Stylus Photo TX700W - epson-inkjet-printer-escpr 1.2.0-1lsb3.2 (Seiko Epson Corporation LSB 3.2)) not the Linux driver (Epson Stylus Photo TX700W, Epson Inkjet Printer Driver (ESC/P-R) for Linux). I can use my duplexer and most options ok. The only really bad bug is that it always selects paper from the main tray not from the photo tray, even though you can select the photo tray. I solve this by setting up 2 virtual printers. One default with the Epson drivers and one specifically for photos with correct paper size, input tray and using the Gutenberg drivers.
