Ubuntu 12.10 with thunderbird 17.0.2 Within 3-5 seconds of starting thunderbird, it freezes the system. 'top' shows memory consumption of more than 3 GB. This happens even in safe-mode. However, I am able to start in offline mode. Even after killing TB, the system is left in such a bad state that I need to restart it.
