Public bug reported:
I have a laptop with an external monitor which is. The external monitor
resolution is 2048x1152 and the laptop monitor is 1366x768. Often when I
maximize a window on the laptop monitor it is maximized on the external
monitor instead.
To reproduce this:
1. Dual monitor setup with one monitor with a smaller resolution
2. Open a window on the small monitor
3. Resize the window so that it's height is greater than the monitor height
(i.e. you can't see the whole window)
4. Select maximize window (either by pressing maximize in window toolbar or
drag to the top)
5. Notice that the window is moved to the large monitor and maximized
To prevent this from happening when moving a window from the large
screen to the small screen resize the window first to be fit inside the
small screen. Now the window is maximized on the smaller screen as
expected.
Another way to observe this behaviour is to drag a small unmaximized
window (one that fits fully on the smaller monitor) from the large
monitor onto the top of the small monitor. This window is now maximized
on the smaller monitor. However, if the window on the large monitor is
made to big to fit on the small monitor prior to dragging it to the top
of the small monitor it is maximized on the large monitor.
