Public bug reported:

Hi! I have a fujitsu siemens C1410 laptop.

After fresh install, the sound worked, but internal speakers functioned
sporadically, and the mics did not work at all.
This is with the "auto" or "fujitsu" model parameter to the hda_intel driver.

After googling for quite some time, i've tried all driver settings for
my hda_intel card. I have a ICH7 compatible card, ALC262 chipset.

While setting driver to "basic" or "benq" in etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base makes
most stuff work, these drivers still confuse headphones with internal speakers,
provide low volume and add lots of unneccesary controls in alsamixer.

I've recompiled alsa to latest version, so this does not seem to fix the
problem.

I just thought I'd report this as a feature request. I don't know how
high this is prioritized, but I'm happy to help out if you need more
info or testing etc.

Thanks
