Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kernel-image-2.6.20-16-386-di
I have a usb irda dong that has the mcs7780 chip set. When i plug in the dong the mcs7780 module is loaded but no device is made in /dev. There are 2 flavors of drivers for this MosChip Semiconductor chipset. One being from MosChip as well as another home brew http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~bpugh/mcs7780.html. Not sure which is included in the linux kernel. I have tried to compile the drivers myself but neither will build. cat /proc/bus/usb/devices T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 14 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=ff(vend.)
