No, we do not want emacs22 from debian. The ubuntu emacs lisp team (well, it was Michael Olson actually) has prepared an unstripped emacs22 package containing the GFDL documentation, etc. For the emacs-snapshot package, this one tracks a newer branch of emacs, which we want as well. It is more or less regularily updated by syncs.
