Here is my ethtool output:
dave@dave-HP-ENVY-6-Notebook-PC:~$ sudo ethtool eth0 | grep Wake-on

Wake-on: g
I thought I would not be affected by this as WOL it is disabled in the BIOS.
Will try the disable method in #16 and post the results.
I've completed the 2 tests requested:
1) Battery depletion with battery disconnected for 7 days ~2%
2) 48hr (2 days) Battery depletion test with 12.10 clean install + upstream
Kernel v3.8-rc3-raring ~ 33%
