Public bug reported:
After typing the password the screen goes to a screen with a background
but NOTHING else. The pointer moves. This is the first time starting a
new Ubuntu install. I don't have any Linux experience and I am not
impressed yet. I really want to get this machine running. This is the
desktop version 12 that I downloaded Tuesday.
