A MacBookPro 2011. I installed from USB external cd Ubuntu Server 12.10 and then tried to update via apt-get install ubuntu-server.
>From the live CD I too got through to the drum roll, but nothing displayed. Looks like there are two problems one in USB driver the other in EFI stuff (I installed rEFIt first). I hope this gives some information to a problem which is being experienced by a few people.
